Ben Folds: Back Stage Pass!

KSCL Shreveport 91.3FM will be giving away one backstage pass for the Ben Folds concert! Tomorrow, Thursday, April 3, at 4:15pm ANYONE in the Shreveport area can tune into "Super Wacky Fun Time with Keith" where Keith and I will hold a call-in trivia contest to give away the pass. All you have to do is call in when prompted and supply a correct answer for the trivia conundrum that Keith and I present to you. If you answer correctly, we shall give you a back stage pass to see Ben Folds at the Centenary Gold Dome Friday April 4!

Centenary Group to Hold Another Car Wash: Remove that Highland Pollen!

Fight Squirrels is at it again with a car wash donation. This Friday (tomorrow) from 2-6pm anyone can get their car washed at the Turner Art parking lot on Centenary Blvd.

The group is only seeking donations to boost their budget. They've hosted acts such as Better Than Ezra, Marc Broussard, and more. This year's performers are Ben Folds and Eef Barzelay on April 4th.

Those donating $10 or more will receive a Sonic Discount card.

Raising Money for Ben Folds @ Centenary [Fundraiser]

Fighting Squirrels Productions is at it again raising money for their upcoming concert. While Ben Folds w/ Eef Barzelay isn't until April 4th, the group is covering costs, which at current word is about 5K. Everyone's invited to support Ben Folds at Centenary this Thursday, March 13th at 5pm inside Cici's Pizza on Youree Drive.

Student members of Fighting Squirrels will be waiting tables and serving customers. All the tips for the night will benefit the upcoming concert. For more information drop a line to Corey Shadd at cshadd@centenary.edu.

Group to Hold "Free" Carwash at Centenary [to help bring in Ben Folds?]

The group rumored to be hosting an upcoming Ben Fold's concert is holding a carwash to raise funds for the performance [whether Folds or not]. Fighting Squirrels Productions, the concert group, will accept donations and wash your car, truck, or MINI from 9:30am to 2:00pm tomorrow, March 1st in the Turner Art Center parking lot.

"The money will be going to our fabulous spring concert!" says Mary Walter on behalf of FSP. The Turner Art Center is located on the corner of Centenary Blvd. and Rutherford Street.

[Update] Rumor: Bloc Party and Ben Folds Coming to Shreveport, Centenary

I've spoken to the Fighting Squirrels people on campus and they (as of Tuesday's meeting) haven't reached a contract with the band(s). Essentially, they haven't fully booked an artist. Meanwhile, the actual transcript from the Preview Weekend pamphlets reads as follows:

"Preview Weekend April 4&5: an opportunity for admitted students to explore centenary.
Stay overnight and enjoy a concert featuring Ben Folds, block party, games and more! Be sure to save the date, more information is coming your way soon."

So, looks like Ben Folds is the main performer (still unconfirmed), while a physical block party will take place, on a -umm- block. This is slightly disheartening, but it's all still very unconfirmed. Expect updates soon. And visit centenarytickets.com for other updates.
